JOB TITLE: Machine Operator

Gardian Holdings, LLC is a leading manufacturer of patented cargo securement technologies used in over-the-road, rail, and ocean shipping. Gardian Holdings, LLC has a long history of market-leading innovations in this space and is growing rapidly with its two primary products, Ty-Gard and Shock-Gard. We are looking for a Machine Operator with remarkable technical know-how, keen attention to detail and quality, and interpersonal communication skills.

JOB TITLE: Machine Operator

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

General Description: Operate and maintain textile lamination equipment, including steam laminating drums, printers, slitters, and re-winders to manufacture Ty-Gard and Ty-Patch products. Machine operators work in teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up machines according to predetermined specifications (length and tension).
  • Maintain set-up mode during operations.
  • Operate machinery safely and responsibly, adhering to all safety and company policies.
  • Perform in-process inspections and ensure product quality meets defined quality specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized machine and work area before, during, and after production runs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks; assist with repairs as needed under the supervision of the Maintenance Mechanic, Lead Maintenance Mechanic, or Process Engineer.
  • Log all maintenance activities accurately. Engage qualified technicians for repairs beyond operator expertise.
  • Identify and support process improvements that enhance safety, quality, or efficiency.
  • All relevant hard copy and electronic documentation to be completed accurately and on time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic to advanced mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (training provided if necessary).
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting as required.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Military training or technical school certification in mechanical fields is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of conscientiousness, situational awareness, and commitment to safety.
  • Must maintain flexibility in work assignments as production needs evolve.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Periods of standing/walking/sitting.
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional loud noise.
  • Occasional varying environmental temperature changes.
