ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize is looking for Labourers who will be responsible for aiding in all areas of the plant.ย  They will be responsible for collecting materials, pulling strands, setting up forms under supervision and basic concrete placing. They will participate in housekeeping and other various tasks throughout the plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Receive oral instructions to determine work assignments.
  • Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete.
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment.
  • Assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers.
  • May assist with minor repairs and maintenance.
  • Remove rubble and other debris.
  • Clean and remove excess debris from molds and other equipment.
  • Participate in daily Pre-Production Meetings.
  • Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Training/Certifications: N/A
Required Work Experience: 1-2 years is preferred. Prior experience in a precast plant would be an asset.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays.
  • Experience working in a production line setting.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Safety Oriented.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment.
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • Able to work well with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
