Job description

Position Summary

At Navista, our mission is to empower community oncology practices to deliver patient-centered cancer care. Navista, a Cardinal Health company, is an oncology practice alliance co-created with oncologists and practice leaders that offers advanced support services and technology to help practices remain independent and thrive. The Senior Clinical Oncology Solutions Architect is a senior individual contributor position responsible for designing, building, integrating, and supporting clinical application solutions used by oncology practices across the Navista Network. This role works closely with architects, product managers, clinicians, vendors, and fellow engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and interoperable healthcare systems, with a strong emphasis on hands-on engineering and operational excellence.

This position is ideal for an experienced Senior Engineer with deep healthcare systems experience who enjoys working at the intersection of clinical workflows, technology, and real-world operations in a multi-practice Oncology MSO environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support integrations across oncology clinical and business systems, including EHR/EMR, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), PACS, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and pharmacy platforms

  • Implement interoperable solutions using FHIR, HL7, REST APIs, and industry-standard integration patterns

  • Collaborate with solution architects and product teams to translate clinical workflows into practical, scalable technical designs

  • Lead hands-on development and configuration of interfaces, services, and integration workflows across clinical systems

  • Review code, integration logic, and technical designs to ensure reliability, performance, security, and maintainability

  • Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues across development, testing, and production environments

  • Contribute to the development and adoption of architectural standards, clinical data models, and integration best practices

  • Partner with vendors and internal teams during implementations, upgrades, and post-go-live optimization

  • Ensure solutions align with HIPAA, HITRUST, and patient privacy requirements

  • Provide peer mentorship and technical guidance to engineering team members

  • Clearly communicate technical concepts, risks, and tradeoffs to clinical, operational, and leadership stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, or healthcare technology environments, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience), preferred

  • 3+ years of direct experience working with clinical applications or healthcare platforms, preferred

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with EHR systems, healthcare integrations, and interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7)

  • Experience supporting oncology practices, cancer centers, or oncology-focused healthcare platforms strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare data exchange

  • Practical experience operating in regulated environments with HIPAA / HITRUST compliance

  • Experience designing, deploying, or supporting integration engines, workflow orchestration tools, or care coordination platforms

  • Exposure to AI-enabled healthcare solutions or clinical decision support tools is a plus

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, clinical, and business teams

Anticipated salary range: $123,400 - $176,300
