SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Join our team as an Epic Beaker Lead Analyst - EMR, where you'll play a crucial role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining the laboratory information system, Epic Beaker and various third party systems. As an integral part of our team, you'll contribute to the improvement of patient care, cost savings, regulatory compliance, streamlined workflow, and innovation within the clinical laboratory setting. This role is perfect for individuals with a good understanding of clinical workflows, a drive for leveraging technology efficiently to enhance outcomes, and a commitment to continuous improvement in laboratory informatics.

This approach aims to balance the benefits of remote work with the value of in-person interactions to enhance teamwork, communication, and overall team effectiveness.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

What You'll Do:

As a Lead Analyst on the Beaker team, you will partner with others to help design and oversee daily team responsibilities, projects and process improvement initiatives. You will harness your expertise to develop, implement, and optimize the Lab Information system. With high levels of autonomy, you will mentor and provide guidance to team members in a variety of tasks aimed at improving Lab/LIS instrumentation workflows, clinical workflow integration, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing workflow efficiency within the clinical laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Mentoring: Partner with fellow lead analyst to plan and execute day-to-day operational items including resource planning, daily production maintenance schedules and responsibilities, and process improvement initiatives. Serve as a mentor for fellow analysts, fostering an environment of shared learning, accountability and collaboration.
  • System Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that enhance laboratory information management, utilizing your knowledge of Epic Beaker functionality and clinical workflows.
  • Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize the performance of the Beaker system, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure proficient use of the Beaker system, contributing to improved patient care outcomes and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to the Beaker system, minimizing downtime and disruption to clinical operations
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the Beaker system remains compliant with relevant healthcare regulations, reducing the risk of negative patient outcomes and maintaining industry best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate Beaker with other systems and technologies, fostering interoperability and seamless data exchange.
  • Innovation: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in laboratory informatics, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in Beaker workflows and integrated systems.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred:

What we would like you to have:

  • Current or prior direct experience in any of the following: working in a Clinical Laboratory, clinical laboratory instrumentation support, pre/post analytical, Transfusion medicine, Microbiology, or HL7 interface experience.
  • Certification in Epic (Beaker and/or Orders)
  • Current or prior team leadership experience
