Job Description The Naval Nuclear Laboratory's Developer Support Team is seeking an experienced engineer to help evolve and secure the software development platforms supporting one of the nation's most critical engineering missions. If you love building scalable platforms, DevSecOps, and automation, this is a role where your expertise will truly make an impact. On this team, you'll shape the technical foundation that NNL's application teams rely on to design, develop, deploy, and secure software used across the naval nuclear enterprise. Your efforts will make a direct impact on application developers across the business and your decisions will influence developer experience and security posture for years to come. The successful candidate will be responsible for: • Designing and extending CI/CD pipelines that embody DevSecOps best practices, from automated testing to continuous compliance • Providing customer support for Application Development platforms • Understand and implement cybersecurity controls and requirements for various platforms and applications • Enable others to utilize AI for Software Development and work automation Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company. Preferred Skills • Linux administration & Bash scripting. • Development experience with Python or other software languages. • Expertise designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and tooling (GitLab CI, Tekton, Argo CD, Jenkins, Github Actions, or similar). • Experience deploying infrastructure to cloud platforms such as Azure. • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform). • Experience with application development security/compliance. • Experience with container image security/compliance. • Experience using AI tools for software development.
