Job description

Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)
Location: Onsite – Orange County, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Status: Exempt

Compensation: $80,000 – $105,000 annually

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a hands-on, onsite HR leader with a strong labor relations background, responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations while serving as a strategic partner to facility and executive leadership. This role is heavily focused on union and labor relations, including grievance management, contract interpretation, and collective bargaining support, while driving effective employee relations and ensuring full compliance with collective bargaining agreements and employment laws.


  • Serve as a trusted HR advisor to leadership on employee relations, labor relations, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Lead onsite HR operations, ensuring consistent execution of HR policies, procedures, and union contract (CBA) compliance
  • Act as the primary HR partner for union and labor relations, including grievance handling, investigations, disciplinary actions, and contract interpretation
  • Support and participate in collective bargaining activities, union negotiations, and labor strategy execution
  • Partner with leadership to ensure adherence to collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and resolve labor disputes effectively
  • Manage complex employee relations cases in both union and non-union environments
  • Ensure compliance with California labor laws, federal regulations (FLSA, ADA, EEOC), and union requirements
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on union workforce planning, staffing strategies, and critical hiring needs
  • Drive employee engagement and retention strategies within a unionized workforce
  • Support job classification, compensation, and organizational design, ensuring alignment with union guidelines
  • Coach leaders on progressive discipline, contract compliance, and labor relations best practices
  • Act as an internal consultant on cross-functional HR and labor-related initiatives

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

Required qualifications:

1.   Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or closely related field.

2.   4 year’s recent health care experience in a Human Resources Department.

4.   Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of material with attention to detail.

5.   Computer knowledge that includes Excel, Word, Outlook

6.   Ability to travel required.

Preferred qualifications:

1.   PHR, SPHR or relevant human resources certifications or advanced degree preferred.
