Job description

Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. (DLS) is seeking a Label Estimator to join our team.  Members of the estimating team provide one-on-one support to our customers and internal departments by reviewing customer quote requests and entering the information into the ERP system or an excel calculator, to create a price estimate based upon job specifications. The successful candidate will develop customer relationships through exemplary service and knowledge of the label industry. 


Pay Range:

$58,000 to $80,000, annually, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using pre-determined corporate standards, develop an accurate labor hour and material dollar estimate that meets the requirements of the specification or work scope, ensuring that all necessary customer supplied information has been received
  • Determine appropriate margin based on market variables and product category
  • Enter appropriate data into the ERP system in an accurate, uniform manner with special attention paid to company standards, customer specific information and special manufacturing requirements
  • Accurately document relevant required work specifications to ensure proper manufacturing procedures
  • Send completed price quotes to customers based upon pre-determined corporate standards and include responses to any special customer requests
  • Troubleshoot customer and company needs, working to resolve all issues on a timely basis
  • Confirm and document special customer requests and make that information available for company use across departments
  • Partner with internal departments, including production and order processing, to ensure that all necessary information is valid and accessible
  • Make raw material substitution recommendations and provide samples for testing as necessary.
  • Communicate with material vendors to identify the best solution for the customer
  • Work within our customer’s sales strategy to provide the most competitive solution and use industry and application knowledge to create opportunities for business development
  • Utilize Excel to estimate multi-item quotes, creating reports and other departmental needs
  • Other projects/duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Flexographic/digital label estimating experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong working knowledge of raw materials, preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills, including but not limited to VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot table and macro creation, required
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of math and calculation proficiency
  • Ability to work at a high speed with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal team members via phone, email and in person
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and assist internal groups with solutions
