About the Position

The Printer Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing equipment to ensure high-quality production of printed materials. This role plays a critical part in achieving production, quality, and safety standards by preparing print jobs, monitoring output, and supporting team operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up print jobs, including dies, inks, coatings, and cut stations
  • Perform die changeovers and ensure proper print-to-die alignment
  • Conduct quality checks on print accuracy, color, and moisture registration
  • Monitor and maintain ink levels in buckets and pans
  • Load rolls onto presses (requires OSHA certification for clamp truck operation) and scan materials into Plex
  • Support Print Packers and assist with production needs as required
  • Perform cleaning duties including washing pans, cleaning plates, and organizing materials
  • Label and return inks to proper storage locations
  • Maintain an organized work area, ensuring all plates, dies, tools, and parts are properly stored
  • Accurately track inventory, scrap, and WIP labels in Plex
  • Communicate equipment or tooling maintenance needs to the Print Manager

Experience Requirements

  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
  • Prior experience operating printing presses, flexographic printing equipment, or similar machinery is a plus
  • Experience with die setup/changeover and color matching strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with production tracking systems (such as Plex or similar ERP systems) is a plus
  • Forklift or clamp truck experience preferred (certification required upon hire)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team-based environment
