Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Casting Lab Product Engineering Manager to lead the Product Engineering team in the Rapid Prototype Casting Lab (RPCL) to develop and manufacture advanced castings for turbine engines. These advanced castings are enabling materials that increase the temperature capability of jet engine components. Through successful casting development, P&W will deliver engines that are more fuel efficient, lighter weight, and more durable for commercial and military applications.
What you will do:
  • Empower and lead the RPCL Product Engineering team in casting development activities including: part quality requirements, casting mold & tooling design, work instructions, etc.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and enforce standardized engineering practices, processes, tools and methods across all products.
  • Develop the product engineering team in skill sets which are critical for group success.
  • Manage the resources and assignments across the team
  • Develop technical and project plans for new castings to meet all casting quality requirements
  • Support the RPCL Operations team as needed to meet program requirements
  • Travel less than 10%

Qualifications you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field and 8 years of experience; or an Advanced Degree and 5 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications we prefer:
  • Prior experience as supervisor in Engineering or Operations Engineering
  • Leadership, critical thinking, business discernment, innovation, collaboration, written & verbal communication, presentation, analytical thinking, problem solving, customer focus, attention to detail
  • Prior experience in castings, manufacturing engineering, and aerospace
  • Six Sigma green belt or equivalent
  • Background with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) process
  • Highly self-directed, quick learner, with a strong drive for results, team-building, and excellent organizational and communication skills

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
