Job description

Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description

As a Lab Technician, you will lead a team of 2-5 members per shift, providing support in testing, calibration, and troubleshooting. You will conduct routine tests on crude oil, base oils, lube oils, and petrochemicals. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting up, running, and interpreting GC/ICPs, accurately inputting data into the lab LIMS system, following safety protocols, and maintaining lab inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead 2-5 team members per shift for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct routine tests on crude oil, base oils, lube oils, and petrochemicals.
  • Run, set up, and interpret GC/ICPs.
  • Accurately input data into the lab LIMS system.
  • Follow safety protocols for proper lab SOPs.
  • Maintain the inventory of the lab.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in lab, quality control, chemistry, and laboratory settings.
  • Knowledge of wet chemistry.
  • 2-5 years of experience with ICP and Octane engines.
  • Prior experience with LIMS systems.
  • Experience in the petroleum industry, titration, distillations, crude oil, and petrochemicals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • A.S. or B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
Work Environment

The lab operates on a shift work schedule, following a 2,3,3,2 pattern. Shifts alternate between 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am every two weeks. The environment involves working in an oil and gas lab, performing a variety of different types of testing each day. The role requires being on your feet for up to 12 hours a day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
