We're looking for aSpecimen Processing Laboratory Assistantto join our team in London, Ontario. As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required.Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone's life.
Status: Permanent, Full-Time, (Guaranteed 37.5 hours a week)
Shift:Evening Shifts, 3:00 pm -11:00 pm; Monday - Friday and rotational Saturday's, 12:00 pm -5:00 pm

  • Ensures that all samples are properly identified, data enter, andlabeled

  • Ensures all client inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner

What YOU bring to the role:
  • Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
  • Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS
Working Conditions:
  • Normal office environment
  • Medical laboratory environment
  • Required walking with repetitive motions
  • May sit or stand for prolonged period of time with extensive computer use
  • Required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds as required
  • Exposed to bio hazardous substances, temperature differences and noise variances
Payrate: $19.75 -$23.50 per hour
The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
