Technical Services Lab Manager
Huntsman is seeking a Technical Services Lab Manager supporting the Advanced Materials Division located at the Huntsman Advanced Technology Center (HATC), Texas. This position will report to the Senior Technical Services Manager.
Job Scope
The Technical Services Lab Manager leads the Advanced Materials technical service laboratory operations in the Americas. This role is responsible for managing laboratory activities, overseeing technical service and application development projects, supporting customer engagement, and ensuring technical solutions align with business objectives. The position works closely with Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, and global technical teams to support product development, customer success, and market growth.
In summary, as the Technical Services Lab Manager, you will:
  • Lead laboratory operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work.
  • Manage, coach, and develop laboratory technologists and technical professionals.
  • Establish priorities, allocate resources, and drive the timely completion of technical projects.
  • Oversee technical service, application development, and competitive benchmarking projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business and quality requirements.
  • Provide oversight of experimental design, data analysis, and technical reporting.
  • Serve as a key technical interface with customers, providing expert guidance and problem-solving support.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D, and global technical teams to support product launches and customer initiatives.
  • Contribute to technical strategy development and drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present project status, laboratory performance, and technical reports to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role within the specialty chemicals or advanced materials industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and complex projects.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical expertise in advanced materials, including epoxy and polymer chemistry.
