About the Role
The Validation Lab Manager will manage a team of technicians supporting ZT System's Validation Engineering group on several projects in various stages of development. The Lab Manager will plan and manage the physical hosting of validation racks and will drive the coordination efforts with Engineering and other teams.
What You Will Do
  • Work with management to manage lab's current needs, anticipate growth, and utilize feedback from engineers and program managers to plan for the future.
  • Coordinate with management to establish and manage budgets, purchase equipment, and roll out equipment and materials.
  • Ensure that the lab can efficiently support validation needs.
  • Work with engineers to establish and improve procedures and processes by addressing issues and risks specific to customers.
  • Facilitate effective communication across teams by reporting on lab status, capacity, and productivity.
  • Maintain equipment and tools within the lab and ensure proper storage, including accurate calibration of sensitive equipment.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of racks, servers, equipment, and components, including the disposition of unused or defective materials.
  • Perform quarterly audit and maintain ESD requirements per company guidelines.
  • Ensure all engineering training is up to date.
  • Ensure all industry/safety guidelines are always followed.
  • Coordinate with facilities to maintain lab security and safety.

What You Bring
  • BS in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 6+ years of engineering validation and test experience
  • 0-2+ years managing technical teams.
  • Experience within a computer hardware environment is preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of validation and testing of computer servers or storage appliances in a design and development environment.
  • Understanding of hardware and software interactions; able to apply this understanding to resolve issues in a validation lab environment.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability; uses rigorous logic to solve problems.
  • Understands and uses speed as a competitive advantage; completing tasks on time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at various levels in the organization.
