Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization at a Trauma Level II facility.

Details
  • Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting
  • Trauma Level II facility
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • 2-room cath lab
  • Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR charting/communication systems
  • 5x8 hour day shifts, either 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rotating weekend call required
  • May float within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • 12-week assignment length
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • CCI RCIS certification required
  • ARRT-R certification preferred
  • State licensure required if applicable
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Epic experience preferred
  • Proficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, IABP and Impella insertion, and permanent pacemaker insertion
  • Experience with EP procedures such as cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, and tilt table studies
  • Skilled in vascular closure systems, hemodynamic monitoring, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Experience with 3D imaging and PACS systems
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and sterile technique
  • Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) preferred
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include equipment set up, EKG lead placement, access site preparation, and maintaining a sterile field while scrubbing or circulating
  • May assist with vascular studies and interventions including angioplasty, embolization, IVC filter placement, and endovascular repairs (EVAR/TEVAR)
  • Exposure to Hybrid OR and interventional cath lab settings
  • Scrub attire provided by facility
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO requests permitted after offer or onsite
  • Holiday coverage required per facility policy; if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested, and if 3 holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
  • Previous Piedmont employees (Perm/Per Diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were previously unable to complete an assignment must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
