Job description

Amphenol PCD seeks a hands-on, detail-oriented, and safety-focused manager for an engineering laboratory. APCD is building a new laboratory facility to grow our technical capabilities, and this role will play a key part in supporting that strategic growth.
Essential Functions:
Leadership
  • Lead day-to-day testing operations in the new laboratory facility, supervising and working alongside engineers and technicians
  • Ensure safe and complaint operations
  • Develop lab capabilities (equipment, process, staff) and alignment with business growth and strategy

Testing and Technical Execution
  • Design test setups and fixtures
  • Develop Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs)
  • Execute mechanical and electrical testing
  • Analyze outcomes and failures and perform root cause analysis and associated design enhancements
  • Implement automated data acquisition where practical
  • Additional duties as assigned

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Support design reviews
  • Implement corrective actions
  • Standardize verification and validation practices globally
  • Work with global testing team (Support labs in Shenzhen, China, and Pune, India)
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • People leadership
  • Laboratory testing experience including lab capability development
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude
  • Data acquisition hard- and software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, sound problem-solving skills, attention to detail, methodical and well organized
  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping/additive manufacturing methods and techniques

Designed Skills/Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of electromechanical testing in accordance with industry and military standards (MIL-STD, DO-160, EIA, IEC, etc.)
  • Experience with environmental, mechanical, and electrical testing
  • Experience with CREO and/or Solidworks CAD systems

Education Requirement:
  • BSME, or equivalent work experience

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. PCD considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
