Job description

This position can be seasonal for the summer or can be a full-time position after successful probationary period.

Basic Function

Responsible for working with Move Team to provide relocation services for equipment, office supplies, refrigerators, freezers, chemicals, biological specimens and all other items in a laboratory from origin to destination. Relocation may be onsite, local, interstate, intrastate or national.

 

Responsibilities

1.     Assist with preparation and packing of laboratory to be relocated.

2.     Assist with segregation and packing of chemicals.

3.     Assist with moving laboratory equipment and supplies.

4.     Assist with packing of specialized laboratory equipment.

5.     Assist inventorying items being relocated.

6.     Assist with moving laboratory furniture and computer equipment.

7.     Assist with loading and unloading of items on truck.

8.     Assist with monitoring temperature of refrigerator /freezer units, as needed.

9.     Drive up to a 26’ truck, as needed.

10.  Provide excellent customer service.

11.  Participate in general staff trainings and specific trainings for position, as necessary.

12.   Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.  Some college is a plus.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualified applicant should have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable transportation to and from work.  Uniform is provided and employee must have a neat and clean appearance.  Extensive overnight travel is required and ability to work flexible days and hours. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.  Must pass required background check.
