Position Information
Job Title PT LAB INSTRUCTOR-DIESEL Position Status Part Time Classification Title Part-Time Lab Instructor-Up to 19 hpw Work Location ATC-3200 W. Cuthbert, Midland, TX Job Summary
The lab instructor will work collaboratively with full-time faculty and the department chair to support hands-on student instruction in the lab environment. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized lab setting by following established safety protocols, motivating students to engage fully in all aspects of the learning process, and providing instructional support to the department chair, dean, and students.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certificate in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to include classroom, lab, or industry experience
  • Computer literate
  • Communication skills with public speaking and strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in related field
  • College and/or high school teaching experience

Essential Functions
  • Prepare and maintain labs, equipment, and materials to support instructional activities
  • Ensure a safe and organized lab environment in compliance with safety standards
  • Assist faculty with demonstrations and provide supervision during lab sessions
  • Guide and support students in developing hands-on skills
  • Monitor equipment, manage supplies, and report maintenance needs
Physical Demands
  • Frequently moves equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds
