Lab Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to support our manufacturing operations. This role involves conducting daily batch and physical testing, operating laboratory computers and analytical instruments, and ensuring the quality of incoming raw materials. The Lab Assistant will document analytical data and audit information, assist in investigating material anomalies, and support plant trial requests. The successful candidate will adhere to good laboratory practices and perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks in the laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily batch and physical testing using standard chemical assays.
  • Operate laboratory computers and analytical instruments, including troubleshooting and calibrations.
  • Test incoming raw materials and verify quality against benchmarks.
  • Document analytical data, audit information, and specifications in data management systems.
  • Assist in investigating non-chemical material anomalies in manufacturing.
  • Support plant trial requests as needed.
  • Adhere to good laboratory practices for safe chemical handling.
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks for the laboratory and equipment.
  • Collaborate with chemists on additional duties.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in a lab or testing environment with wet chemistry procedures.
  • Experience in medical, manufacturing, or food lab settings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate laboratory equipment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and chemical handling.
  • Proficiency in batch testing and wet chemistry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Open to candidates with or without a degree.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of HPLCs is a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisonville, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
