We are looking to hire a Lab Technician III immediately at our Technical Innovation Center in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Flavor Innovation Lab through bench preparations of food and beverage (F&B) formulations mimicking market products.
  • Use various bench equipment and processes to make the F&B trials.
  • Use Bench system to set up trials to screen F&Bs with ingredients and flavors of interest. This will involve organizing trial results, recording data, working within DevEx recipe formulations, communicating results with Innovation team and working with internal customers (FONA R&I team, seasoning and flavor team).
  • Provide support for model food system evaluation support to the FONA and the Clean flavor lab team.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • A minimum of twelve (12) college credits/CEUs OR in lieu of college credits, 1-2 years of lab experience.
  • Preferred college degree
  • Previous compounding and weighing experience required with proven accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong PC skills required. Experience with SAP, DevEx, Windows environments, managing files and handling data.
  • Experience in a Food manufacturing environment or lab and knowledge of food safety.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to be self-directed and motivated.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively.
  • Experience following principles and making informed decision.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to present information to peers in a logical manner.
  • Must possess strong teamwork capabilities, flexibility to adjust to customer demands and changing priorities.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds continuously, 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Solid math skills including the ability to work accurately with formulas and decimals.
  • Responsible for preparing food formulations, setting up flavors and raw materials for screening and evaluation.
  • Managing Raw materials. Stocking, ordering and maintaining lab supplies and raw materials from plants or suppliers.
  • Coordinating Tasting Sessions and ballots.
  • Operating food processing and pilot equipment.
  • Ability to taste diverse foods and beverages.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.

Base Salary: $23.65 - $35.47
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan/ McCormick's Sales Incentive Bonus (SIB) Plan/ McCormick's Dividend Program.
