Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:

Provides a supportive link between UCI customers both internal and external, facilitates communications by effectively navigating computer and phone systems, builds and maintains customer relationships while providing a positive, professional and empathetic understanding to all customers. Main duties include phone calls, computer data entry, and printing/delivering lab reports. Reviews lab requisitions and performs quality review and troubleshooting. Also performs specimen processing in Central processing area of the main lab if needed: main job includes computer data entry and transporting specimens in the different areas of the lab.

What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • One year of applicable clinical lab work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval
  • Ability to work weekends, and rotating shifts including evenings, nights and holidays
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in customer service
  • Experience with lab/hospital computer systems and software
