RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Testing & Analysis: Conduct laboratory tests on construction materials (e.g., asphalt, concrete, soil, aggregate) according to established procedures; accurately record and analyze test data using Spectra QEST software and internal worksheets; maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with senior lab technicians to learn testing procedures and interpret results; collaborate with the lab manager and other technicians to address quality-related issues; effectively communicate findings through clear and concise reports.
  • Operations & Improvement: Contribute to the efficiency of laboratory operations by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices; report any equipment malfunctions or testing discrepancies to the lab manager; assist with sample preparation, equipment maintenance, and general lab organization.
  • Professional Development: Actively learn and develop proficiency in all applicable testing procedures; pursue relevant certifications to enhance technical skills and knowledge; build relationships with Eastern Sierra Engineering staff to understand company culture and contribute to a positive work environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; previous laboratory experience or related coursework is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols; proficiency with computers and data entry; ability to learn and apply new testing methods.
