The Opportunity:
At CACI we specialize in the design, development and manufacturing of complex, state-of-the-art systems for military, space, and commercial applications. Our products include optical and RF communication systems as well as sophisticated image processing & visualization systems. We are currently looking for an Environmental Systems Test Engineer with experience in opto-mechanical system integration, system test planning, and system test execution.
Responsibilities:
  • Proven track record of working with test, flight, and safety-critical hardware, tools, and shop equipment.
  • Previous experience with spacecraft/satellite environmental test development and/or execution, hardware ownership (responsible engineer), or hardware qualification and/or acceptance testing.
  • Hardware/software and opto-mechanical system integration
  • Development of system-level test plans, based on system requirements
  • Development of system test approaches and test fixtures, especially for optical-mechanical systems
  • Definition and execution of system optical and/or communication performance-tests
  • Prototype module test and debug support
  • Support of optical, electrical and mechanical component selection and test
  • System-level troubleshooting
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Develop documentation to support troubleshooting efforts
  • Coordinate with design engineer subject matter experts across each affected system under test to integrate the identified system verification requirements into the detailed test plan for the development risk reduction and/or verification run for record event as appropriate.
  • Conduct test design reviews, integration readiness reviews, and test readiness reviews for your events.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 5+ years' experience in bring-up of electro-optical systems
  • Experience with Thermal Vacuum Chambers (TVAC) and Vibration testing
  • Experience using equipment such as VOAs, OSAs, Power Meters, oscilloscopes
  • Understanding of communications: serial, USB, ethernet
  • Understanding of electronic, optical, and mechanical systems
  • Self-motivated and self-directed individual, with little supervision necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work Second and Third shifts as needed

Desired:
  • Master's degree or PhD in in Mechanical, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
