The QC Lab Technician is an integral part of our Quality Control team based out of our US - Sarasota, FL site.
Hourly rate range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50
Position Details
Phibro Biotechnics, a leading manufacturer of innovative bioproducts, is expanding and in need of an entry-level QC Laboratory technician. This position performs various laboratory test activities, calibrations and calculations to provide useful and accurate product for the Quality Control Department. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Technician would be responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control of large scale fermentations and resulting cultures using classical microbial plating methods and techniques, including preparation of solutions and growth media for enumeration, selection, and differentiation of bacteria. Additional responsibilities would include maintenance of bacterial strains, aseptic preparation of fermentation inoculums, and maintaining lab organization and cleanliness. This position is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with weekend work and OT potential.
In addition to the QC Lab Technician, this person will be a backup for the QA Coordinator. Responsibilities will include performing incoming ingredients inspection/approval and release of finished products.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare media; set up, operate, clean and maintain equipment at the bench
  • Performs various testing
  • Accurately and precisely prepare and analyze samples
  • Preparation of solutions and growth media for enumeration, selection and differentiation of bacteria
  • Compile and maintain files for all records of testing
  • Stock lab supplies as necessary to ensure adequate supplies
  • Enter test results of raw ingredients and products into the computer database
  • General lab maintenance organization and cleanliness
  • Backup to QA Coordinator
    • Inspection/release of incoming ingredients
    • Positive release of finished products
