Compounding Lab Technician / Billing Associate AllerVie Health | Pikesville, MD | Full-Time AllerVie Health is seeking a Compounding Lab Technician / Billing Associate to support our allergen mixing laboratory in Pikesville, MD. This is a dual-function role combining lab formulation work with medical billing responsibilities. We are particularly interested in candidates with a billing or RCM background who are comfortable learning the lab side on the job. What You'll Own Billing & Charge Entry
  • Enter patient service charges into the superbill accurately and timely
  • Apply correct CPT and diagnosis codes for allergen immunotherapy services
  • Review entries for accuracy and completeness, flagging discrepancies
  • Partner with clinical and billing teams to ensure proper charge capture
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and documentation
Formulation & Lab Responsibilities
  • Prepare and document allergen extract formulations according to physician orders and protocols
  • Maintain accurate formulation records for each patient vial set
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of allergen extracts
  • Follow safety, sterility, and quality control standards in the lab
  • Monitor lab supplies and inventory needs
What We're Looking For
  • 1+ year of experience in medical billing, charge entry, or RCM; this is the primary background we are looking for
  • Familiarity with superbill charge entry, CPT coding, and billing workflows
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
  • Comfortable working in a clinical environment and learning lab procedures
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office
Preferred
  • Knowledge of CPT codes for allergen immunotherapy (e.g., 95165, 95170)
  • Experience in allergy, immunology, or compounding pharmacy settings
  • Experience with allergen extract preparation or vial mixing
  • Certification such as CMA, CPhT, or equivalent
Pay Range: $20 - $22 per hour
