Job Summary and Responsibilities
Float Cath Lab Technologist III PRN

The TX Division Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards set by the organization.  The primary function of this role is to assure optimal quality examination and intervention while maintaining the highest level of patient care and safety.  Accountable for supervision of the room staff's performance, coordination of the room's schedule and communicating with the Cath Lab management team to ensure efficient utilization of resources.  Performs duties of circulating, scrub, and monitoring of invasive cardiology procedures.  Demonstrates an understanding of all invasive procedures, the equipment and supplies for each procedure and indications for performing each procedure.

Individuals must be flexible to float to various departments and sites throughout the Texas Market which could include but not limited to scheduling day of staffing.  Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a Clinical Leader.  

Float Cath Lab Tech III B: Employees (at times w/in minimum of a 2 hour notice) will agree to float to any facility within the Texas division.  Must be available to be scheduled for a minimum of 3 shifts every week and available to be scheduled a Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend.  Must be available to be scheduled for two major holidays per policy. May take Call.

The rate of pay for this level of commitment is $60.00.  Mileage reimbursement and applicable differentials will apply if eligible.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BLS 
  • ACLS

Five (5) years clinical experience in a hospital setting

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective Communication
  • Knowledge of the principles and skills of the cath lab processes to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
  • Basic Computer skills
