Qualifications
An Associate Degree Nurse Educator works to bridge learning between theoretical medical knowledge and entry-level clinical nursing practice. Important role in mentoring and guiding students for the NCLEX-RN exam while teaching students how to be strong in nursing clinical practice. This position will lecture, help in the skills lab, the simulation lab and the clinical setting.
The position is located on the Levelland Campus and clinicals and simulation are completed in Lubbock for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
Classroom Instructional and College Roles:
Didactic Instruction:
Designing and delivering lectures on core nursing topics such as medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, pathophysiology, mental health, professionalism and leadership.
Curriculum Alignment: Ensuring all coursework meets the standards of regulatory bodies like the Texas Board of Nursing and ACEN.
Evaluation: Will provide formative and summative feedback, complies and analyzes exams and grades exams and course assignments in a timely manner.
Committees: May serve on Nursing and college committees
Advising: Help advise current and future students
Clinical Instruction:
Competency Evaluation: Verifying that students can safely perform nursing clinical tasks that fall within the scope of nursing student practice. This may be in skills lab, simulation lab and the clinical setting.
Bedside Mentorship: Supervising groups of students in actual healthcare facilities, ensuring they apply classroom theory to real patients through safe evidence based practice. Acting as a liaison between the students and clinical partners.
Simulation Experiences: Educate students in simulation lab where students practice high-stakes scenarios (e.g., cardiac arrest response) in a controlled environment.
Assessment & Remediation: Developing valid testing instruments and identifying students who need additional support to meet competency standards.
Key Skills:
Clinical Expertise: Need to have current clinical expertise working as an Registered Nurse Instructional Technology: Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft products as well as being willing to learn learning management systems and testing platform.
Adaptability: The ability to pivot teaching styles for diverse learners, including non-traditional students. Need to be flexible to switch between lecturing, helping with skills lab and providing clinical expertise in the clinical setting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises students in the clinical affiliates.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master's in nursing required. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of recent clinical nursing experience; nursing education experience preferred. Registered Nurse with current Texas license.

Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Texas;
American Heart Association BLS certification (current)
