Job description

Job Overview

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician supports the overall Food Safety Plan through monitoring, record/product review and inspections.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct verification inspections for post sanitation and pre-operation cleans.
  • Conduct pre-operational and environmental monitoring swabs 
  • Conduct plating of environmental monitoring swabs
  • Monitor room, cooler and incubator temperatures.
  • Conduct routine testing and monitoring of product and packaging attributes to established specifications
  • Conduct daily review of labels and retain product
  • Conduct real time review of production records
  • Conduct daily line inspections.
  • Conduct routine data entry and filing of paper work
  • All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures          
  • All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by plant FSQA leadership.
  • Maintain company confidentiality.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Degree      
  • Ability to complete tasks based on standard procedures.   
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work cross-functionally
  • Basic Computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in Food Science or related field 
  • SAP experience. 
  • HACCP Certification.
Working Conditions
Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
Work is performed in a lab setting.
Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35F to 100F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
Work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 60-80 degrees F.
