Colson Group USA is seeking a Test Lab Engineer. The Test Lab Engineer is responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring smooth functioning by scheduling tests, maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, all while overseeing the quality and accuracy of laboratory work including reporting. The job requires close coordination between Product Engineering, Sales, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and the customer to meet the customer's expectations. The position reports to the Engineering Services Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work cross functionally to clarify test requirements and prepare samples for testing. Assist in testing.
  • Maintain lab test scheduling and status communications.
  • Keep up to date on requirements for current industry standards.
  • Create, Implement, and Maintain Lab standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensuring proper documentation and storage of laboratory data.
  • Maintain and improve the test lab and testing equipment; assure calibration schedules are maintained, and preventative maintenance activities are established and performed.
  • Work with engineering design resources to develop testing equipment and fixturing.
  • Recommending and Purchasing supplies and equipment.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate degree plus 2 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree.
