Job Description

About the Team: The engineering team at ZF Axle Drives in Marysville, MI is focused on driving innovation, product reliability, and continuous improvement across the plant. Within this team, the engineering lab plays a critical role in supporting department functions such as quality and warranty teardown evaluations, assembly projects, and cross-functional collaboration. The team works closely with quality and other departments to conduct detailed investigations and builds related to product development, failures, and warranty concerns. To support these efforts, the team is currently seeking an intern who will gain hands-on experience in lab operations and contribute to initiatives that enhance the quality and performance of ZF's driveline products and manufacturing processes.

What you can look forward to as an Engineering Intern:

  • Ensure the Axle Lab Area is organized & has the necessary resources & tools to perform tasks. 
  • Perform and document detailed analysis of warranty issues and other product failures. 
  • Support the warranty review process related to root cause analysis of failure and corrective actions. 
  • Coordinate product and process engineering tasks or projects at the manufacturing plant level. 
  • Utilize QDM for engineering tasks as assigned. 
  • Locate and move product / containers as needed for drive unit extraction and replacement.   
  • Coordinate with logistics to maintain FIFO and transparency regarding container moves and SAP changes. 
  • Maintain inventory accuracy in road test, teardown, and non-production parts crib. 

Your profile as an Engineering Intern:

  • Pursuing Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Strong computer skills required. Must be proficient in MS-Office Suite, with proficient understanding of MS Excel in Macros and formulas. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. 
  • Must be self-motivated, with ability to prioritize and accept direction from multiple sources. 
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work in a team environment. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
