Job Title: Bilingual/ESL (LEP) Teacher Assistant Reports To: Building Principal Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant) Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt Days: 188 Salary: See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 202 Contract: None Date Revised: 11/15/2023 Primary Purpose: Assist the teacher(s) in the implementation of the Bilingual/ESL programs. Qualifications/Skills: Education/Certification:
  • Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment.
  • Educational Aide Certification.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to work with children.
  • Ability to work and communicate with children and adults effectively.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
  • Adhere to TEA and the district's policies and procedures.
  • Assist in carrying out the instructional program.
  • Prepare and organize instructional materials and equipment.
