Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers, and office staff in alignment with OHFL culture and company policies.
- Supervise and support P&D and linehaul operations to ensure freight moves efficiently and on schedule.
- Dispatch drivers for pickups and deliveries, optimize routes, and verify accurate documentation.
- Manage payroll functions, including reviewing and approving timecards.
- Oversee outbound dock operations, ensuring freight is loaded, staged, and handled properly.
- Enforce safety protocols, operational procedures, and compliance standards.
- Conduct monthly driver safety meetings and support training initiatives.
- Deliver proactive customer service by addressing inquiries, scheduling freight pickups, and resolving shipment delays or misroutes.
- Monitor operational metrics to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Manage team performance, including accountability, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Utilize OHFL systems to maintain data accuracy, resolve operational issues, and ensure smooth workflows.
- Cover various shifts as needed to ensure consistent operational support.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or customer-facing role, ideally in transportation (LTL experience preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially in time-sensitive situations.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team to meet performance goals.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); AS400 experience is a bonus.
- Highly organized, with the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.
