Work Location: Southeast Regional Office, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Position Description: The incumbent will provide overall coordination for business activities and provide general administrative support for the Southeast Region Office of the LSU Agricultural Center. This region has 16 parish Cooperative Extension Service offices and three research stations. The incumbent will perform and provide coordination for a wide range of activities including but not limited to the following:

Fiscal - budget management, financial records, accounting transactions including purchasing

Grants, Gifts and Contracts - includes state and federal grants, local funds and agreements, and foundation funds

Human Resources - transactions related to accounting functions, including cost share determinations, salary allocations for support positions, spend authorizations and expense reports

General administrative support - receptionist, record-keeping, correspondence and report preparation, meetings and special events

Other Administrative Functions - assisting with inventory, policy updates, directory and web site updates

Duties will span all administrative areas, and the successful applicant will need to be closely involved with programmatic matters in order to perform these duties effectively. The position requires exceptional organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment. The successful applicant must exercise sound judgment, maintain strict confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and impartiality in all interactions. Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to customer service, collaboration, problem solving, and continuous improvement. The successful applicant must be able to act independently and make daily decisions based on an understanding of the regional director's goals and the organization's culture and philosophy. A key component of the position will involve working with and providing technical guidance to parish chairs, resident coordinators, and administrative support staff throughout the region, as well as offering general support to all Southeast Region employees. The successful applicant will serve as a liaison with AgCenter central business and administrative offices, stay abreast of policies, provide technical assistance, and ensure compliance. The position also requires maintaining close working relationships with a broad range of offices, personnel, external collaborators, and stakeholders. In addition, the successful applicant must be detail oriented, proactive, and dependable, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Experience with accounting principles, billing and receivables, Workday, Quicken, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and Canva is desirable, along with knowledge of Louisiana state rules and regulations, procurement procedures, and human resources functions. The successful applicant will also perform other activities as needed.

Qualification Requirement: Baccalaureate degree in a business field and a minimum of two years of related experience. Other baccalaureate or higher degrees will be accepted if combined with at least four years of closely related business/management experience or if the degree included substantial coursework in a business/management field. Familiarity with functioning of higher education and/or Louisiana State government is desirable. Requires strong organizational, fiscal management, interpersonal, information technology and communication skills.
