Welcome to the world of land-based gaming. At Light & Wonder, it's all about the games, and our Gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.

Position Summary

The Senior Advanced Mechanical Engineer performs professional work in development, prototype, production, and maintenance, of electro-mechanical products in L&W's gaming division. Concentrating on sheet metal, die-castings and injection molded parts design.

  • Designs electro-mechanical assemblies, parts, and systems for L&W gaming products

  • Creates parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software; uses previous experience and knowledge to weigh function, cost, serviceability and manufacturability

  • Understanding of diecast design and injection molded part design and the tooling processes associated with those types of parts

  • Creates mechanical drawings, Bill of Materials, Assembly Procedures, and other documentation for product release

  • Evaluates prototype products and designs for possible refinement through assembly and test

  • Initiates and maintains contact with key engineers and officials of other divisions and companies, requiring skill in negotiation and persuasion on critical issues

  • Applies creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems, determining objectives and requirements, and organizing projects

  • May mentor or lead lower-level engineers, designers, and technicians

  • Demonstrates effective and efficient leadership skills

Qualifications
  • Must have extensive knowledge of theory, principles, and procedures of Mechanical Engineering

  • Demonstrates effective and efficient leadership skills

  • Understanding of 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks

  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials and manufacturing processes; drafting experience or training required

  • Knowledge of ECO release process using Agile or other equivalent PLM application

  • Familiarity with basic shop equipment and hand tools used in assembly of prototypes

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
