Job Overview:
We are seeking committed, enthusiastic, success- and team-oriented K-5 School Support Staff (IA) to contribute to our educational community. The ideal candidate is child centered and will adhere to the KUA standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience and a proactive attitude, focusing on solutions rather than dwelling on challenges.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.
  1. Teaching Support:
  • Follow teacher created plans to support or lead small group instruction
  • Familiarize yourself with and actively use recommended engagement strategies throughout instructional support
  • Support the implementation of small group interventions within the classroom
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist teachers in assessing student progress and collecting data
  • Embrace coaching and feedback
  • Consistently demonstrate and be a model of the KUA standards for our students

  1. Observation:
  • Participate in observations and reflections throughout the school year

  1. Collaboration:
  • Support the units of study in all classes as needed
  • Believe in, and support, a culture of "our students" vs "my class" or "my students"
  • Work closely with teachers and fellow IAs to promote a collaborative and supportive educational atmosphere
  • Attend and actively contribute to all IA meetings and professional development sessions

  1. Professionalism:
  • Come to work ready to work
  • Work full contract hours
  • Adhere to the Master Schedule and understand that collective resources (including materials and support staff) should be used equitably with a student-centered approach
  • Demonstrate unwavering punctuality and reliability in attending all scheduled meetings and duties
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism in interactions with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Actively participate in culture-building activities and events
  • Maintain appropriate attendance and attire
  • PTO must be communicated 2 weeks in advance
  • Day of absence must be communicated at least 1 hour before contract start time
  • Facilitate the development of a nurturing and inclusive environment within our school community, fostering a culture where every individual feels valued and belongs

  • Commitment to punctuality for all scheduled meetings and events
