Description
The Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD), located in Danville, Kentucky, is a statewide educational centerdedicated to serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from across the Commonwealth. KSD provides a bilingualenvironment in which students learn and grow in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English. Our programsare designed to empower students with the linguistic, academic, social, and transition skills they need tobecome confident, capable, and successful lifelong learners.
KSD is organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within theCommonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. KDE supports KSD throughguidance, resources, and oversight as part of its broader mission to ensure success for every student inKentucky's P-12 public education system.
As one of only two state-operated special schools under KDE, KSD has a long and proud history of excellence inDeaf education and cultural preservation. Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
