Job description

  • Supervise and support students throughout the school day, including transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times.
  • Assist students with daily routines and functional tasks to ensure they participate safely and appropriately in school activities.
  • Support personal care needs such as toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance, following district and classroom protocols.
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.
  • Assist staff with preparing materials, organizing the classroom, and maintaining cleanliness and safety.
  • Implement behavior supports and de-escalation strategies as directed by certified staff.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, teachers, and other team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information at all times.
  • Participate in required training, including behavior intervention, crisis prevention, health protocols, and disability awareness.

EXPERIENCE:
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma
  • Pass a background check
  • Complete the IDEAS modules(6 hours) and Special Health Care training (6 hours-provided by nurse) within 30 days of employment
  • Complete 12 hours of PD a year
  • Maintain current CPR training.
