Job Description:

The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL), Rare Disease, is responsible for building & maintaining brand and company awareness among National, Regional, and Local Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) thru regular engagement and education for Iqirvo. The TLL serves as a field-based marketing position responsible for facilitating engagement opportunities and strategic brand partnerships with Hepatology and Gastroenterology KOLs.

The TLL supports marketing department initiatives and is actively involved in conferences and meetings.

This role will have responsibility for the Northeast region including: MA, RI, CT, NH, VT, ME, NYC, Long Island and Westchester NY

What - Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies

KOL Engagement

  • Build, deepen, and maintain high-impact relationships with National, Regional, and Local hepatology and gastroenterology KOLs through regular, value-driven engagements and scientific exchange.
  • Proactively identify and develop strategic partnerships with top-tier thought leaders and influencers who shape clinical practice and policy within Ipsen's core disease states.
  • Lead community and academic influence mapping to support national strategy and field execution.
  • Maintain and continuously refine KOL segmentation and engagement planning, incorporating disease state dynamics, patient volume, and institutional influence.
  • Shape and expand Ipsen's thought leader advocacy network, aligning engagement efforts with broader corporate goals and long-term strategic imperatives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and act on KOL sentiment trends through congress activity, speaker programs, publications, and podium presence.
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive strategic business growth and institutional collaboration across key academic and community settings.
  • Serve as the cross-functional leadership point of contact at high-priority accounts; orchestrate local and national initiatives with KOLs and institutional stakeholders.
  • Remains a core focus of the TLL Bylvay role, with expanded responsibilities to drive strategic alignment and elevate Ipsen's presence across national and regional landscapes.
  • Call points: pediatric hepatologists, pediatric gastroenterologist

Strategic Marketing & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to Marketing in the design and execution of national and regional advisory boards. Lead ad board planning, HCP selection, insight capture, and impact assessment.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction to the Speaker Bureau program: lead agency collaboration, speaker nomination and development, utilization strategy, and program quality monitoring.
  • Liaise between the field and internal stakeholders to ensure compliant and impactful delivery of speaker content; support remediation efforts in partnership with Business Ethics as needed.
  • Lead the compliant delivery of TLL-approved materials and strategic narratives to drive KOL awareness of Ipsen's portfolio, pipeline, and corporate vision.
  • Actively identify, synthesize, and communicate market and KOL insights to inform brand planning and strategic direction.

Congress & Conference Leadership

  • Serve as the Commercial Lead for national and priority regional congresses.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Medical, Global, Meetings/Conventions) to coordinate and optimize conference presence and engagements.
  • Provide high-level strategic preparation and oversight of KOL congress plans, including insight tracking, podium coverage, and post-conference debriefs.
  • Lead cross-functional pre/post congress coordination, ensuring delivery of timely, synthesized, and actionable information across the organization.
  • Actively follow up on podium presentations and other KOL congress contributions to sustain momentum in advocacy development.

KOL Meeting Leadership

  • Serve as the Senior Commercial lead for strategic KOL meetings, including executive exchanges, high-level institutional engagements, and global interactions.
  • Drive end-to-end planning: stakeholder coordination, strategic list development, invitation process, logistical planning, and development of customized backgrounders.
  • Facilitate and elevate cross-functional customer engagements to ensure Ipsen presents as a cohesive, value-driven partner.
  • Serve as the U.S. Commercial lead for global alignment on KOL meeting strategy, execution, and information flow

How - Knowledge & Experience

  • BA/BS degree IS required; advanced scientific or business degree (MBA, MS, PharmD, PhD) strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of direct TLL experience OR 6+ years of Hepatology experience OR 8+ years of commercial pharmaceutical/biotech/clinical experience
  • Strong command of compliance requirements and rules of engagement in field-based roles.
  • Deep understanding of the payer, clinical, and policy landscapes within specialty and rare diseases-Hepatology/Liver experience strongly preferred.
  • Consistent history of exceeding both qualitative and quantitative performance goals.
  • Operates independently in the TLL function with minimal oversight
  • Leads end-to-end project management for brand initiatives, insights efforts, and congress activities
  • Experience with rare diseases is strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel upwards of 80% including weekend conferences when necessary

The annual base salary range for this position is $162,000 - $235,000

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
