Description

About Alvarez & Marsal

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm with entrepreneurial, action and results-oriented professionals. We take a hands-on approach to solving our clients' problems and assisting them in reaching their potential. Our culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who positively impact our clients and shape our industry. The collaborative environment and engaging work—guided by A&M's core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity—are why our people love working at A&M.

The Team

Alvarez & Marsal, a premier professional services firm with more than 13,000 professionals globally, is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated knowledge management professional to join our growing KM Services team. As part of A&M’s Global AI and Knowledge Organization, KM Services is at the center of an exciting firm-wide transformation in how A&M works and derives value from its intellectual property. The team is focused on building a mature knowledge management practice, including strengthening relationships with business stakeholders; breaking down siloes; and improving how consulting teams capture, organize, share, and find critical knowledge. In addition to supporting people-to-people and people-to-content use cases, the team has a critical role in building the data and information layer needed to power business-relevant AI agents and tools.

The successful candidate will own the KM relationship for a portfolio of North American business units, partnering closely with those businesses to improve their existing KM processes, understand their evolving needs, and connect them to the global KM strategy and toolkit. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to help business units get more value from their knowledge while also contributing directly to global KM and AI initiatives. The role will report to the North American KM Services Director.

How you will Contribute

Partner with A&M Business Units on KM Initiatives

• Own the day-to-day KM relationship for an assigned portfolio of 3-4 North American business units, with the opportunity to expand the portfolio over time.

• Serve as the primary liaison between assigned business units and the central KM team, identifying opportunities to extend each business unit’s use of KM services and maximize KM adoption and value.

• Lead projects to build and refine business-unit KM processes and tools, including coordinating timelines and partnering with KM services, KM technology, and other corporate groups on execution.

• Monitor and provide routine support for business-unit KM processes and tools (e.g., knowledge libraries, taxonomies, capture processes, search, and communities).

• Provide advice and recommendations to business units based on internal and external KM best practices.

Contribute to Global KM Strategy and Initiatives

• Partner with KM colleagues to design and build global capabilities and tools (e.g., expert profiles, conversational knowledge search, agentic knowledge capture) and help extend them to new areas of the business.

• Support KM team members on initiatives both within and beyond the immediate region, contributing to a cohesive global KM capability.

• Share knowledge of processes, approaches, methods, and tools/platforms with team colleagues so the team can leverage its collective experience across the globe.

• Provide insight into business needs, initiatives, and end-user experience to help ensure global KM service offerings remain relevant and aligned to overall strategy.

• Support the growth and evolution of the KM team by applying KM best practices in ways that strengthen the success of the overall KM support model.

Grow KM Knowledge and Expertise

• Identify internal and external KM trends and best practices; communicate and promote these to business-unit KM contacts.

• Champion KM best practices and encourage knowledge sharing and adoption of new tools throughout the region and firm.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in a knowledge management role.

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work/technical experience in Business Studies, Business Administration, or Management.

· Experience leading projects from inception to completion, including collaborating with stakeholders on timelines and expectations and handling change management.

· Experience in a professional services or consultancy firm.

· Proven experience working with professionals of all staff classes, up to C-level.

· Experience with KM technology (e.g., SharePoint libraries, AI-enabled search and discovery tools).

· Fluent English required.

Desired Skills and Attributes

• Consultative approach when partnering with the business.

• Experience with KM and content management approaches (e.g., communities, skills and experience platforms, document libraries, taxonomy and metadata, search, curation, content analytics).

• Analytical reasoning and solution-focused problem solving, with the ability to connect the dots and scale KM efforts across a portfolio of business units.

• Capable of synthesizing information and driving results in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

• Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to present complex ideas and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated history of operating with urgency, responsiveness, and a client-first focus.

• Exceptionally close attention to detail.

• Resilience and an ability to persevere in order to break down resistance and accomplish long-term goals
