Kitchen Utilities Specialist

Schedule: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM


Position Summary

The Back of House Utility Team Member plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organized, and fully stocked so the team can operate efficiently throughout the day. This role focuses on receiving and organizing deliveries, maintaining cleanliness, supporting food safety standards, and completing utility tasks that allow the kitchen to perform at its best.

Primary Responsibilities

Truck & Inventory

  • Receive and put away all daily deliveries.
  • Organize inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.
  • Ensure all products are stored in their proper locations.
  • Keep storage areas, coolers, and freezers clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Communicate any shortages, damaged product, or inventory concerns to leadership.

Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Complete assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
  • Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a clean dish area throughout the shift.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, floors, walls, and equipment according to Chick-fil-A standards.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.

Kitchen Support

  • Empty trash and recycling throughout the shift to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Remove food scraps and properly dispose of waste.
  • Clean and scrape Henny Penny fryers according to operational procedures.
  • Assist with additional cleaning and support tasks as assigned by leadership.
  • Help maintain an inspection-ready kitchen at all times.
Performance Expectations
  • Arrive on time and prepared to work at 5:30 AM.
  • Work with a sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Keep all utility areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by supporting kitchen operations wherever needed.
  • Complete all assigned tasks before the end of the shift.
  • Take ownership of maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in hot, cold, and wet environments.
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and kitchen tools.
