Title: Kitchen Porter
Starting Pay: Based off experience starting at $16/hr+
Employment Type: Full Time and Part Time (20-40 hours/week)
Employment Period: May- October (willing to be flexible)
Standard Shift Duration: 8-10 hours (pending business needs)
Job Purpose: The Kitchen Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards through operation of dishwashing equipment and sinks, polishing silverware, removing garbage, cleaning equipment, sweeping and mopping of floors as well as assisting in general food preparation for events as needed.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Desire to work and be trained in a kitchen and restaurant setting
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the role

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS (dishes, glassware, trays of food, etc)
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions
  • Must be able to handle hot, cold and moderate noise interior and outdoor conditions
  • Continuous repetitive motions
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

What are the Key Responsibilities?
  • Maintain and operate the dishwashing machine, sinks, dishware, smallwares, pots, pans and storage room.
  • Cleaning the food production areas in the kitchen including stations, walls, floors, equipment and other areas as necessary.
  • Equipment disassembly and reassemble as necessary.
  • Responsible for removing and depositing garbage and recyclables
  • Assist with basic food preparation and buffet set-up
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Follows all state, local health, club and food safety regulations.
  • Proficiently perform any ad hoc duties involving the kitchen, bar and food as required.
