PRACTICAL SKILLS

Reports directly to the Sous Chef

Responsible for checking in and putting away daily produce and food-related deliveries

Stocks kitchen of dry storage and transports from storage to kitchen facilities as needed

Maintains dish pit station. Washes, dries, and returns all dishes and kitchen utensils used during prep shift

Performs cleaning tasks as assigned by sous chef

Performs light kitchen food prep tasks as assigned by sous chef (juicing, washing produce, cutting vegetables, etc)

Operates in an organized fashion, keeps station tidy, and follows Department of Public Health protocols

Follows daily cleaning list requirements made by prep manager

Thoroughly and routinely follows opening and end-of-shift procedures and protocols

Is a clear communicator

Follows all other handbook-related protocols

Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift up to 50lbs.

Must have hand dexterity and be able to use a knife

Reliability, punctuality, and attendance are crucial aspects of this position. Lateness will not be tolerated.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Is dependable: shows up to work consistently and reliably with minimal excuses and missed shifts.

Is an excellent communicator of availability, schedule needs, tardiness, etc.

Finds solutions when sick or requiring time off. Takes the initiative to find solutions for the dropped shift before coming to a supervisor about it.

Willingness to help the team. Understands that we all need each other to be successful both for the evening’s service as well as the big picture.

Picks up shifts when others are sick, stays late to help when appropriate. Jumps in to help co-workers when they have a larger workload.
