POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Kitchen Porter Department: Food & Beverage

Salary Range: $16.00Reports to: Food & Beverage Director

Employment Status: Seasonal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team. The Kitchen Porter plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, floors, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Collect and dispose of garbage and recyclables in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Assist with washing and sanitizing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen tools as needed.
  • Assist with deliveries by receiving, organizing, and storing supplies and food items.
  • Assist with minor food prep or setup tasks as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards (and other local health codes).
  • Gather supplies and fire wood to support pizza prep area.
  • Possess the ability to react productively to other duties as reasonably assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum age: 18 years with valid driver's license.
  • Previous kitchen or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Food Handler's license required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior restaurant experience is required to function efficiently in this role. At least 1-2 years in Food & Beverage industry preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in point of sales system. Access to email service. Accommodations may be made.

  • Knowledge of APM marina services and amenities.
  • Guest relation skills which allow calm, effective, polite and professional resolution of guest problems or concerns.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in fire extinguisher operation.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in ISO/EMS awareness.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in employee orientation.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazard communication.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazardous materials response/respiratory protection.

  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in recyclable materials.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in blood borne pathogen awareness.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Antelope Point Marina policy regarding employee performance evaluation. The employee understands that a 90 day performance evaluation will be conducted to discuss job responsibilities and performance requirements. Should the employee not meet the performance standards of the position, APM management reserves the right to terminate the employment relationship or relocate the employee to another position within the company, if available.
