What is a kitchen organizer?

Kitchen organizers are professionals who help individuals and families declutter, arrange, and optimize their kitchen spaces for efficiency and functionality. They assess the layout, storage, and workflow of a kitchen, then implement systems to keep items easily accessible and organized. Their services may include sorting pantry items, organizing cabinets, labeling containers, and suggesting storage solutions tailored to the client’s needs. Kitchen organizers can also offer advice on maintaining an organized kitchen over time. Their goal is to create a space that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a kitchen organizer?

To thrive as a Kitchen Organizer, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of food safety and storage practices, often supported by experience in kitchen or hospitality environments. Familiarity with inventory management systems, labeling tools, and basic cleaning equipment is typically required. Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving abilities help you coordinate with clients or kitchen staff and adapt to different kitchen layouts. These skills ensure efficient kitchen operations, minimize food waste, and create a safe, functional workspace.

What are the most common challenges faced by kitchen organizers, and how can they be addressed?

Kitchen organizers often encounter challenges such as limited storage space, cluttered work areas, and balancing efficiency with safety standards. Tackling these issues typically involves implementing creative storage solutions, establishing clear labeling systems, and streamlining workflows to minimize unnecessary movement. Collaborating closely with kitchen staff is essential to ensure organizational systems are practical and consistently maintained. Regular communication and periodic reviews of organization strategies can help adapt to changing needs and keep the kitchen running smoothly.

THE BREAD CLUB

The Bread Club is a neighborhood bakery from Dallas-based hospitality group Feels Like Home. Led by Peter Edris (formerly of Frenchette Bakery in NYC), The Bread Club was created to celebrate the passion of bread making and the power it has to bring people together. Our menu highlights artisan bread, viennoiserie, and sandwiches, all made in-house, alongside an exceptional coffee program that complements the bakery experience.

We are looking for a Kitchen Manager to join our team and help lead the savory and sandwich side of the bakery.

JOB SUMMARY

The Kitchen Manager will work closely with the Chef de Cuisine to oversee daily kitchen operations, lead the kitchen team, and ensure that our food is prepared consistently and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working in the kitchen, knows how to lead a team, and takes pride in keeping a kitchen organized and running smoothly.

The right person will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to grow with The Bread Club.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Place food and supply orders and help maintain inventory.
  • Ensure food is prepared consistently and meets quality standards.
  • Train and support kitchen staff.
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
  • Help keep the kitchen organized, efficient, and well stocked.
  • Take responsibility for the kitchen when the Chef de Cuisine is not present.
  • Communicate daily staffing, ordering, and production needs to the Chef de Cuisine.
  • Support a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong culinary and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off and vacation days.
  • Employee meals and discounts.
  • Opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • A supportive, collaborative work environment.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This position is designed for someone who wants to grow. The Kitchen Manager will work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and have the opportunity to develop their leadership and operational skills while becoming an important part of The Bread Club's culinary team.

If you're a talented cook and natural leader who takes pride in your work and wants to grow with a new and exciting bakery, we'd love to hear from you.
