HRO Dietary Cook (Fulltime and Parttime)

Location: Zachary, Louisiana

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HRO Dietary Cook to join our team at Progressive PHP of Seaside Health System. As a key member of our Dietary Department, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and assisting with inventory management. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with menus and dietary requirements

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to local and state health regulations

  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, storing, and inventory control

  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and equipment

  • Empty trash and maintain a clean and organized kitchen

  • Assist Supervisor in maintaining accurate inventory of food and supplies

  • Other duties as assigned or required

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum one year's experience as a cook in an institutional establishment (hospital, nursing home, etc.) preferred

  • Familiarity with proper menu planning, food safety, and sanitation practices in a kitchen area

  • Ability to measure accurately and lift supplies/ingredients

  • Good verbal communication skills, including telephone protocol and customer service
