Job description

The Sales Analyst is responsible for supporting our sales and operations teams in looking for opportunities within select Key, National, and Specialty Accounts. This includes booking, sell through, and performance to booking analysis that can be used to identify potential sales and improve the quality of the order book. This attention to detail will also be focused on working with the planning team on in-season and pre-season campaign data quality, which will in turn improve fill rates and reduce lost sales.

3-5 years of experience in wholesale sales or customer service

Combination of data entry and wholesale sales experience in the outdoor industry and a familiarity with complex processes associated with key account sales.

Skills and general experience: Excellent interpersonal communication, related office experience, and sales skills are mandatory. Product knowledge and experience in skiing and rock climbing is preferred. Time management, account management, and advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) are mandatory. Must be articulate, a confident public speaker, possess a professional demeanor, and project the appropriate company image.

Alternative qualification

  • An active, on-going knowledge of company products or additional work experience would be acceptable over applied education.
  • Additional 5 years of experience with retail or wholesale sales in the outdoor industry.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for monitoring the Sales Operations Summary and other reporting tools to identify issues/ opportunities and recommend solutions to the Sales Managers and Account Reps.
  2. Responsible for communicating and coordinating with SCM to meet expected and unexpected demand of key accounts. This entails but is not limited to preseason, promotional, and special request orders.  Order tracking and follow up throughout the process is essential.
  3. Required to track and acquire Key and National Account customer sell through information to highlight opportunities and recognize successes.
  4. Responsible for working in conjunction with Sales Managers and outside Sales Representatives to determine annual Sales goals and Sales initiatives for each of the key accounts. Senior Sales Management is ultimately responsible for finalizing these goals and initiatives.
  5. Responsible for achieving sales growth, service goals, metrics, and initiatives for key accounts as identified and evaluated by Sales Operations and Key Accounts Sales Managers. 
  6. Responsible for personally visiting accounts on an “as needed” basis. This may include travel to regional shows, demonstrations, and sales events as required by Key Account Sales Initiatives and/or Sales Ops mgmt.
  7. Create allocation projections for seasonal products and bring awareness for necessary revisions to increase fulfilment and proactive communication to accelerate sales.
  8. Authorized and responsible for representing and presenting the viewpoint of our key accounts in all appropriate internal capacities. This includes lobbying on behalf of Key Accounts to see that the company is aware of and adjusting to the changing requirements of these customers.
  9. Responsible for working with The BD Sales Operations Department, and Sales Department mgmt to assist in any Sales Ops department related functions.
  10. Responsible for helping with ongoing department training and team development for implementing account reviews and recognizing opportunities.
