Job Overview

The Key Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding our presence across the U.S. foodservice and retail markets. Reporting to Executive Leadership, this role focuses on managing and growing strategic customer relationships, executing business development initiatives, and supporting long-term account expansion with key national and regional partners.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience working with U.S. foodservice distributors and/or mainstream retail customers. This is a consultative sales role requiring the ability to build strategic partnerships, manage complex negotiations, and execute joint business plans with key industry stakeholders. Existing relationships within the U.S. food distribution and retail ecosystem are a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives.

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across foodservice, wholesale, and retail channels.

  • Manage and grow key customer accounts while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor buyers, category managers, merchandising teams, and retail buyers.

  • Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, product listings, promotional programs, and contract terms.

  • Develop joint business plans (JBP) with key accounts to drive category growth and long-term partnership value.

  • Drive new product introductions, promotional initiatives, and market expansion within assigned accounts.

  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.

  • Own sales forecasting, pipeline management, pricing strategy, and account planning.

  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Logistics, Finance, Operations, and Global Headquarters to ensure seamless execution of customer programs.

  • Monitor account performance and support resolution of customer issues as the primary escalation point.

  • Oversee accuracy of sales reporting, forecasts, pricing, and contract documentation.

  • Support accounts receivable monitoring and credit risk management as needed.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or key account management in the U.S. food industry.

  • Proven experience managing accounts in foodservice distribution, wholesale food, or CPG industries is strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with major U.S. foodservice distributors or retail customers is highly desirable.

  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving account growth.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability with a data-driven mindset.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Fluent in English required; bilingual skills or experience working with international teams is a plus.

Travel

  • Up to 30% domestic travel required.

  • Valid driver’s license required.
