Job description


The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a Kettle Coordinator for the Bainbridge Service Center, located in Bainbridge, GA.


Job Summary


Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet locations needs; ensures that workers and volunteers have the appropriate equipment; transports Kettle workers to and from their assigned posts; prepares records and reports of income by location, worker/volunteer and ensures that the income is properly secured.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Ability to communicate effectively with kettle workers and volunteers; Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision while enforcing established policies & procedures; Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports; Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff; Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of volunteers and staff; Ability to maintain volunteer and financial database; Ability to respond to emergencies quickly and calmly in order to deal with situations that may arise at the kettle stands; Ability to read, write and communicate the English language; Ability to use/operate general office equipment. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices; Knowledge of the streets and how to maneuver to/from kettle locations; Knowledge of basic recordkeeping practices and procedures.


Education and Experience


High school diploma or G.E.D. Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


Licenses and Certifications


Valid State Driver's License


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


Ability to meet attendance requirements; Ability to lift and carry approximately 35 lbs; Work is performed in a normal office environment and outdoors, which has exposure to outdoor temperatures.Therefore, there may be some discomfort associated with these temperature extremes and traveling in an automobile, which involves frequent stopping and going.
