Guaranteed annual pay increases; as Utility Operator you will start at $24.32 per hour, plus 3.5% shift differential on base rate for any hours worked. Increase to $27.91 hr. after 1 year and at least $31.94 hr. after 2 years with our tier system. Utility Operator is our entry level position with room for growth, if you have the drive and work ethic the sky is the limit!

Afternoon shift position, Monday-Friday11:55pm-7:55am (Monday shift starts at 11:55pm Sunday night) (week finishes Friday morning at 7:55am)

Durez produces thermosetting phenolic resins and molding compounds that cover a wide range of application and industries. We are a global organization committed to exceeding our customers’ expectations in material performance, customer service, technical expertise, and product quality. Job Duties:

  • Set up and operate flaker in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Package and store products in the proper area.
  • Pickup resin from floor or pans and clean floor and pans.
  • Weigh and store resin in area assigned by supervisor
  • Help charge kettles (liquid or solids) under direction of kettle operator.
  • Help dump, chip and prepare kettles for next batch.
  • Yard cleanup
  • Transfer powdered resin from fiber drums to bags.
  • Operate crusher equipment. Dump and charge in bags or drums.
  • Obtain packing materials and take full packages to shipping or designated area.
  • Assist grinder operator as needed.
  • Perform duties of shipper and receiver when assigned to shipping department.
  • Perform labor duties as required.
  • During the course of job duties, must be able to prevent / contain chemical spills in order to ensure employee safety and protection of the environment.
  • Operate forklift as instructed by supervision or as required to perform his/her job duties.
  • Perform any and all supplemental duties involving the use of common skills while performing normal job functions.
  • Perform any and all job functions / classifications for which employee is qualified

Compliance with all health, safety, environmental regulations, and requirements Durez subscribes to including the handling of hazardous materials in conjunction with PSM and RMP. This position, as do all other positions at the Niagara Falls plant, adheres to all quality regulations and requirements to support the plant’s customer focused initiatives.

Qualification:

Must be physically able to perform job duties as specified above. Must climb stairs and ladders, use hand tools & jackhammer, shovel, push & pull various non-powered material handling equipment, operate valves, and operate forklift in a safe manner.

Ability to life up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis

Prior Chemical Plant Experience Preferred

Ability to arrive on time and work scheduled shifts

Basic math skills

Ability to follow written and verbal direction
