K12 Coalition came together when educators with deep experience as teachers, school leaders, and high-level district administrators observed a genuine need for something better. Our divisions include iteach, Passage Preparation, Teaching Channel, Lavinia Group, and Keys to Literacy.
About iteach
iteach is a competency-based educator preparation program helping to fill the void the nation faces with the unprecedented teacher shortage. iteach offers state-approved educator preparation programs in multiple states, enabling recent graduates, career changers, paraprofessionals, substitute teachers, and others to earn their educator licensure through an affordable, flexible, and fully online pathway. Notably, iteach was the first educator preparation program outside of an institution of higher education to earn accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
Location: This is an in-office role located in Denton, Texas.

The Opportunity
At iteach, a division of K12 Coalition, the Academic Advisor I supports iteach's admissions department by managing applicant evaluations, processing transcripts, and providing exceptional customer service, including addressing inbound questions about the application process and general state-specific inquiries. This role ensures a seamless admissions experience for prospective educators, offering a great opportunity to contribute to the development of future teachers and make a meaningful impact in education.
The Academic Advisor I reports to the Manager, Student Services.
What You'll Do
Application Document Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates during the submission of application documents, including transcripts and test scores.
  • Process electronic and mailed application documents efficiently to ensure timely and accurate evaluations.
  • Review and evaluate applications to meet state and program admission requirements

Customer Support
  • Provide clear and accurate guidance to applicants regarding the admissions process.
  • Answer questions about the program and state-specific operations (ex. Nevada, Florida, Alabama, etc).

Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement strategies to resolve application friction points and improve the admissions process.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Other Duties
  • Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in a customer-facing role
  • 1-3 years of experience in a university setting is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines efficiently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with experience in providing clear guidance and customer support
  • Proficiency in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Comfortable using technology for document management and customer interaction, with proficiency in standard office software (ex. Google Suite)

Compensation
The compensation for this position is $24.00/hr.
As part of our commitment to maintaining fair and consistent compensation practices, new hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the band minimum and midpoint, based on their qualifications, location, internal alignment, and the budgeted amount for the role.
