Job Summary:


Under the direction and supervision of the Principal, the ELA AIS Teacher will provide increased daily instructional time in ELAs by pushing into classrooms and working with students or by pulling out students throughout the day for one-to-one or small group support.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for ELA services in individual, and/or small group settings.
  • Reinforce strategies used in the general instruction program, focusing on gaps identified through analysis of student assessment data.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers for seamless curriculum implementation
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students.
  • Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Create goals and objectives with teachers for intervention and maintain appropriate documentation for each

Pay Transparency: The salary range for this role is $62,500 - $85,000. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred
  • New York State Reading Certification
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience required with a record of high student achievement
  • Experience working with at-risk student population in some capacity preferred
  • Working knowledge and comfort level with instructional technology
  • Strong written, grammatical, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required to develop rubrics, examine data and metrics that will enhance student knowledge and promote performance of superior work products
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a diverse team of teachers and administrators
  • Knowledge of childhood development and demonstrated experience with executing planned lessons to meet the differential needs of each child
